The course we deliver is highly practical and focused on developing skills you can put into practice in real emergency scenarios. This course provides the skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace. The unit applies to workers in nominated occupational first aid or management roles.

Course Outline

  • Conduct workplace risk assessments

  • Develop a first aid response plan including strategies for management of incidents
  • Use a first aid checklist to service a workplace first aid kit for supplies’ replacement and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain first aid equipment and resources according to manufacturer’s instructions
  • Use and maintain documentation required by the workplace and regulatory authorities

Pre-course theory may be completed online prior to attending the face to face practical, which reduces the face-to-face delivery time. Consideration is given to previous skills, knowledge and experience for students refreshing an existing or equivalent certificate.
