Overview
This course provides participants with the necessary skills to provide immediate emergency response in the event of a low voltage electric shock.


Course Outline
- Electrical hazards
- Electric shock response procedures
- Site emergency procedures where 000 isn’t the primary emergency contact
- Low Voltage Rescue Kit – contents and inspection requirements
- Effective use of a fire blanket to extinguish flames
- Effective use of the items contained in the low voltage rescue kit.
- Brief review of CPR requirements
- Practical performance of a simulated rescue, using the fire blanket and low voltage rescue kit, as well as
- performing CPR
Consideration is given to previous skills, knowledge and experience for students refreshing an existing or equivalent certificate.
Standard face-to-face delivery: Up to 4 hours
Note: These are approximate minimum timings and may vary based on the number of students and their level of experience.
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
Successful completion of this course requires participants to have the physical ability implement safety requirements and use of safety equipment.
