This course is designed to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge to safely perform manual tasks in the workplace. It focuses on identifying risks associated with manual tasks, preparing for and completing these tasks safely, and contributing to overall workplace safety practices.
Course Outline
- Identifying hazardous manual tasks
- Preparing the workspace and selecting appropriate equipment
- Using proper manual handling techniques
- Reporting hazards and participating in safety activities
Course delivery is Face-to-Face. Consideration is given to previous skills, knowledge and experience for students refreshing an existing or equivalent certificate.
Standard face-to-face delivery: Up to 4 hours

Students are required to demonstrate a sound level of proficiency in spoken and written English, which will be tested in a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Skills Assessment.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
Participants are required to engage in practical training sessions, which include identifying manual task risks, implementing safe handling techniques, and using appropriate equipment to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
This course is recommended to be updated every 12 months.
